Electricity covers the installation of electrical wiring for factories, businesses and homes. Hands-on projects using power tools, hand tools, and safe work practices are part of the everyday instruction. Installation, trouble shooting, and repair of industrial wiring systems are covered in the second year of the program. Students will have the opportunity to train state of the art Industrial Control Panels. Technical training obtained in Electricity Class will allow students to get high paying jobs in a rewarding career field. Electricians work in manufacturing, construction, and the repair industry. Electrical skills are very useful around the home and many other career fields.





In the first year of Electricity students will complete wiring projects in a real world lab setting. Hand tool use and safety, power tool use and safety, basic wiring diagrams, and blueprints will be covered as students complete their projects. Students will complete projects involving estimating the cost of small and large residential wiring jobs.

The second year deals with commercial and industrial applications. Students will be working with electrical test equipment, pipe bending and threading, industrial motor controls, transformers, and basic electronic components. A graduate of this program is prepared to enter many fields, involving the residential, industrial, and commercial areas. Students will be better prepared to enter similar areas of higher education.
